Nikos Tsapekos

As an Infrastructure Engineer, I am part of a team which is responsible for managing and maintaining all installed systems and infrastructure. We work collaboratively with the development team to ensure that product infrastructure is working as needed and our goal is to proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. A typical work week consists of installation, configuration, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.

Employed as a member of a team of Linux administrators supporting and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux machines for an international banking customer. The area of my responsibilities spanned across the fields of installation and configuration of systems, performing backups, resolving server-side issues as they arose and monitoring system performance to prevent slowdowns and crashes. I was involved in the project of health checking of the infrastructure in accordance to regulations.

I spent three months as QA Engineer Intern in the Technology Office of e-Commerce department working mainly on the development of a monitoring tool, which collects and saves in a Database metrics with regards to the responsiveness of a Website from different locations around the world. As a side-activity I was providing help to the QA team in documenting their migration from Sitecore to SAP Hybris.

I worked twice on five-month fixed term contracts as an IT specialist in the Finance Department of the Administrative Region of Drama, which is part of the Greek Public Sector. My principal activity was IT service desk, supporting the employees with their IT-related issues. Managed to complete the digitization of the department's archive.
