Dr. Nils Bausch

Nils is currently working as lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of Portsmouth and he is involved in teaching electronics, mechanics and general engineering subjects. In addition to this, Nils supervises undergraduate and postgraduate student projects and tutors Level 3 students (Foundation Year). Currently Nils is involved in research in the areas of powered wheelchairs and conformal 3D printing.

At the School of Engineering, I taught following units: Introduction to Design, Industrial Control, Data Communications, Engineering Programming, Electronics and Electronic Principles, and Network Topology. At the Learning at Work department, I tutor distance learners in the areas of engineering and business studies. At Portsmouth Business School, I was invited to hold seminars in Digital Marketing.

Nils worked as a developer on two contracts before starting his PhD. The first contract was the extension of Matrix Multimedia's Flowcode software for micro controller programming. Nils worked on the integration of customised C code, using VC++. On the second contract, Nils worked for MotionTouch Ltd on a wine cooler system. A peltier unit was used to heat and cool the wine and Nils designed and tested the firmware, running on an Atmel AVR.
