Nils Hachmeister

BiCDaS is a horizontal institution at Bielefeld University. Its members come from all disciplines and central institutions. BiCDaS provides support for researchers in developing interdisciplinary, data-centred project and ideas, including but not exclusively funding proposals. BiCDaS has introduced the agile, internal exchange format of the DataLabs. I have been BiCDaS' founding director and have, thus, been instrumental in spelling out its role within Bielefeld University.

The main focus was on neuro-physiological research and teaching. In both I could complement the existing expertise by a technical/data analytics perspective. The department aimed at developing a server infrastructure for neuro-physiological research data, which was to be implemented by this position. I have also been asked to represent the department of psychology at the newly founded round table data science, which soon decided to found a center for data science (BiCDaS), my next position.

PhD project on identifying neural correlates of human interaction. Relevant topics and methods: Hyper-scanning, EEG, Eye-Tracking, EMG, Digital Signal Processing, Robotics, Computer Vision, Development of a software framework for real time classification of EEG data.
