Nuno Afonso

Responsible for the preparation and implementation of national and international launch of a Home Management platform with special focus on the customer experience (from purchase to usage of the system) and multidevice integration (from Laptop to mobile handsets).

Responsible for the development of an innovative portfolio of Connected Home solutions – from IPTV/Cable TV services to Smarthome products – to acquire new and retain existing customers with focus on both B2B market (Housing Industry) and B2C (Residential Market). Since 2009 cooperate in the definition of the company’s strategy and innovation roadmap for the residential market with focus on new OTT and multiscreen services for the TV, Internet and Core Telco business based on emerging trends.

Founder of one of the very first and most innovative Smarthome project in Portugal. In 2004 CentralCasa was awarded the 1st prize on the 6th Edition of the Prémio do Jovem Empreendedor (Young Entrepreneur Award), promoted by ANJE (Young Entrepreneurs National Association).

Worked as a software engineer developing applications for military projects and telecommunications applications for Altran clients in Milan, Italy and Paris, France.

Designed and implemented software to control a couple of robots including an API to process and analyze video images in real time.

Studied as Erasmus student for one semester and stayed one year more to write my Diplomarbeit with the subject “Design of a controller for a real dynamic system using Reinforcement Learning theory".
