Along with a psychologist, I run a weekly late afternoon dialogue session (Gesprächskreis) that addresses the psychosocial issues facing vulnerable migrant men. Each session encourages the men to discuss emotional issues and the loss of social status in the new setting in which they now reside. I also facilitate the dialogue by translating from German to Arabic, and English or French when required.

At AUBMC, I lead the embracement of new channels of information dissemination and dialogue, and the establishment of online community tactics and policies. I also lead the roll-out of sub-sites for more than 20 departments across the institution. In 2015, I worked remotely with AUBMC as a full-time consultant. I also conducted regular virtual trainings to new members of the communications team.

At social4ce, I planned, created, and managed content. Some of the brands I worked on include Sneakers, Dewar’s Heritage, and City Mall.

Mizalla was Lebanon’s first online mall in a community that does not trust online transactions. My strategy was to kick-start an advocacy-style campaign, to create awareness, and to inform by generating content, creating stories, and involving stakeholders through online discussions of many forms. Palpable results included extensive blog coverage from influencers in the field, and coverage on print media and television. I also managed the public appearances of the start-up’s founders in tech conferences.

The main lobbying activities at Towards Citizenship focused on accountability, whistleblower protection, and access to information in Lebanon. My role was to conduct research on MPs’ policy-making contributions and to interview parliamentarians in this regard as part of the Lebanese Parliamentary Monitor project, which aims at creating awareness about the institutional role of MPs and the importance of active citizenship.

At SMEx, I was involved hands-on with social media training for non-profits, and blogging on the topics of digital advocacy and Internet policy and rights. I also co-authored a guide to Facebook Pages for NGOs, non-profits, and civil society, and contributed to another guide with the same team in 2012.

In addition to delving deeper into theory, contemporary research methods, and debates within the social and political sciences, my research focused on social movements and dissidence with particular emphasis on the Middle East.
