The Symyx Server Project is a challenging project to merge three different internal Server architectures to drastically simplify the company’s application platform for customers and consultants. Responsible for the Domain-Services. The Domain-Services do implement the Modules and functionality of the former LOI project ( See below in the Document ) into the new Server Architecture which is based on REST and SOAP as base Technologies, this makes it much more industry conform and extendable.

Driven by the need of new technology and functionality the LOI project was formed out of the successful WOMS project (See WOMS project below in this document). The LOI Project was designed to be a platform for Laboratory Operational functions modules. This allows having the WOMS functionality to be provided as a Module on the LOI platform. The Dissertation work ‘Simulations of Turing machines’ was rewarded by the “Dr. Waldemar Jucker Award” and is now used for teaching purposes in the Software School of Switzerland, a section of the Technikum in Bern.
