After completing a double major in physical geography and botany, I completed my honours in physical geography the following year. This involved a range of relevant course work and an individual research project, the results of which were presented in the form of a 15,000-word thesis. I was awarded First Class Honours for my work which made me eligible for an Australian Research Council scholarship to complete post-graduate work.
