Robert Ribnitz

Computer scientist in a gorpu of mecanical and electrical engineers, doing research mainly in the field of robotics. I provided the group with automated tests for their environment, and developed a graphical user interface for the researchers, in Matlab. Day to day work also included analysis and improvement of the protocols the different systems used to communicate with each other.

I was a Java (Enterprise) developer, who helped specify and implement a J2EE solution that allows to query administrative data accessible with Swiss Health insurance cards . In adition to extewnsive work with Enterprise Java Beans and Web Services, I also made extensibe use of XSLT and WS-BPEL for data transformation, as well as XML Schema for validating the data.

As a Linux sysadmin, I was responsible for the computers and servers of the company. This included configuring mail servers, keeping the webpage up to date, and running tests of the software the company developed. As a Java developer, I mainly fixed the bugs that the clients reported using the bug tracking system; I also automated the build and introduced unit tests.
