• Develop transitional regulations to effect movement from previous immigration regime to that introduced by Reform Act. Oversee Department-wide development of regulations, policy guidelines, and procedures for transition to new regime. Guide development of computer systems to implement transitional regulations. • Delivered: development of transitional regulations submission; development of Department-wide clearance procedures for Reform Act project; jointly developed 24-hour turn-around system.

• Provided weekly situation report to Minister on effect of the Gulf War on certain communities. Researched and drafted Departmental response to green paper on language policy. Compiled directory of Muslim organisations in Australia.
