Started out as a C developer on IBM Dynamic Application Virtualization (DAV), an application designed for the financial services industry. Went on to work as a J2EE/JSP developer of the core system for Lotus Connections, a browser-based team collaboration platform, specializing in UI and internationalization components

Worked as a software developer on the prestigious Extreme Blue internship program during summer 2006. Project description: porting the BLAST algorithm to the IBM Power architecture and parallelizing its structure to take advantage of the multi-core IBM Cell processor

CTYI (the Centre for Talented Youth in Ireland, at Dublin City University) takes in highly talented children from 8-16 years of age and offers weekend and summer courses, mixing advanced topics in education with networking and fun. I started there as a student, then went on to work in various positions and duties, from full-time residential assistant and course coordinator, to instructing of the computer science class.

Worked full-time during summer 2001 as well as 2002 working on development of intranet websites and applications based on Lotus Domino, including web design work in Adobe Photoshop
