Direct sequencing of AT (SERPINC1) gene was carried out in patients with thrombosis. An interesting finding of the study was the presence of mutations in patients with normal AT levels. Novel mutations were characterized by expressing the mutated protein in HEK 293 cell lines and studied using Western Blot, Affinity chromatography, and qPCR to study the functional impact of these mutations.
