Studied gene expression induced by chronic antidepressant treatment in order to test the hypothesis that antidepressant drugs regulate specific genes responsible for depression, and showed that these drugs activate certain signaling pathways. Showed that treatment with certain drugs led to an activation of the Wnt/wg signaling pathway in the hypothalamus, followed by an accumulation of beta-catenin, a transcription factor that usually plays an important role during embryogenesis.
