This year’s Shell Business Challenge 2015 focused on ‘managing projects in the oil & gas industry’. As a participant, I had to make a selection of projects and manage these for some time, hereby taking up the role of the Shell Board. For example, I had to deal with suppliers going bankrupt or a sharp decrease in the value of a certain currency, which in turn affected their portfolio’s.

The Dutch Ministry of Defence In cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Business from the University of Groningen, the Military Business Challenge 2015 is organized. Within 11 weeks, under the guidance of various colonels and captains, 6 specific selected groups of 4 students analysed the current situation of the Dutch military, whereafter we developed alternative structures for improving the efficiency of the brigade.

Banka is a young and dynamic company, where our guests are standing at the first place. As a restaurant manager I was managing a team up till 15 employees, with the main objective: satisfied customers by identifying and anticipating in their needs. The more you know of your customers, the better you become at anticipating in their needs. As the Restaurant Manager of Banka I was responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant and managing our team.
