Characterization of protein disulfide bond formation and protein export signal sequences in E. coli. Determined that SRP-independent protein signal sequences can be converted into SRP-dependent signal sequences for protein export by single amino acid exchange. Cloning, purification, mutation and biophysical analysis of Heatshock protein 33 (Hsp33) from Escherichia coli. Working in the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology under supervision of Dr. U. Jakob. I developed a new biochemical assay that helped to determine that heat and oxidative stress are needed simultaneously for the activation of Hsp33.

Developing new protocol for the purifcation of phospho-peptides from eukaryotic cell samples using MALDI TOF spectroscopy.
