My name is Starlene and, I care for my mature Mother, Avis. I do this full time and have retired for now from structured work life. Together we manage Health, Well-Being, lifestyle, finances, and fun.

Director and business owner During this time i connected with the wider business community through attendance at The American Chamber of Commerce and, The Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Their activities, meetings and networking events were helpful, directive and lively. I was voted Winner of The American Chamber of Commerce Market Place Forum in Perth, in 1997. I volunteered with Give It A Go Recreation, Perth on their outdoor activities and treks for the challenged.

After being part of our family business of residential property investments in the U.K., I moved into running a business within Australia. This firm was involved in the redevelopment and sale of residential apartments and, in the design and building of executive homes in Attadale. It also invested in homes for rental income. As the director of this company, I was nonetheless fortunate to have support from family.

My work was diverse in nature and involved my assisting the director in all aspects of executive secretarial and administrative work as well as working independently in e.g. areas of management of rental and holiday properties. During this ten year period the Carlton Group enjoyed a well founded reputation as one of the leading property builders/developers in that part of England. Unit Design was the baby company prior to the realization of the Carlton Group. Here i was involved in pretty much everything to do with co-running and managing a small company, including secretarial, buying supplies, working on-site, etc. It was a rich hands-on experience.
