I manage the website of the non-profit EUCHIS, which encourages basic and applied scientific studies of all aspects of chitin, including chitosan and derivatives of chitin and chitosan, and related enzymes. Additionally I am in charge of editing and archiving the webinar series, which started in 2021.

For my PhD project I worked in the Nano3Bio project (http://www.nano3bio.eu/), an international scientific project that significantly contributed to a breakthrough from basic research to biotechnological production of chitosans and their use. My work was related to the use of chitosan in biodegradable nanoparticles for drug delivery and bioimaging purposes. During my Ph.D. work, I visited the lab of Professor Salomon at the UNR where we investigated the nanoencapsulation of drugs against neglected tropical diseases in a project supported by DAAD and MINCyT. As part of my master's degree in biotechnology, I visited the polymer chemistry lab in the Universidad Austral de Chile under the supervision of Professor Moreno-Villoslada. The project was a collaboration between the lab I visited and the workgroup Nanobiotechnology of Professor Goycoolea of the University of Muenster.
