In the Image Processing department of Fraunhofer ITWM, Kaiserslautern, I was able to help implementing some algorithms (median-filter, image rotation) and updating the existing software to the newest Qt libraries. The successful C++ implementations was an important step for the department to keep their commercial software ToolIP up-to-date. In the department for Mathematical Methods in Dynamics and Durability at Fraunhofer ITWM, Kaiserslautern, I was able to implement a map-matching algorithm for OpenStreetMaps datasets. The finished MATLAB implementation was used in U-SIM, a software predicting the durability of mechanical parts in trucks. The main component of my studies were Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations. I also gained knowledge in System and Control Theory for Dynamical Systems, and Stochastic Methods. Minor subjects contained Image Processing and Computer Vision.
