Thomas Knöll

Autodesk took over the group from SHL Systemhouse in 1999. Most recently worked on the design of the Feature Data Objects (FDO) interfaces to support long transactions, locking and capabilities and its implementation. Also involved in Autodesk teams visiting potential customers to present and demonstrate the products and worked with Oracle's Workspace Manager developement group to support the development of their lock and versioning tool.

Worked in the VISION@Solutions group and was responsible for the development of the components Long Transaction Rules, Object Rules Modeler and Rule Editor. Also worked on customer projects, prepared and held workshops, represented the company at trade fares and was a speaker at the VISION* User Group Meetings.

Responsible for the design and implementation of the converters IFF2EDBS and EDBS2IFF. Delegated to IBM to work on the design and implementation of the GIS/6000 Application Manager.

Worked at the faculty of Information Science, responsible for the design and development of a converter to translate text written with the documentation tool TeX to the interface used by the University’s ray trace system. The converter was presented to the TeX user group meeting in summer of 1990.

Information Science included technical, practical and theoretical information science. Also studied Organization (includes project management as well as workflow management and organizational structure).
