The Department Spins in Energy Conversion and Quantum Information Science is looking for

Postdoc (f/m/d) for Combined Atomic Force and Optical Experiments on Colour Centres in Solids

Your Tasks

• Conduct and support nano-scale NMR/EPR experiments and characterize the physical properties of colour centres in diamond.

• Knowledge of optical and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR and EPR)
• Experience with atomic force microscopy

• Explore and further develop theoretical foundations, models, methods, and procedures.

• Supervise and support PhD, Master?s, and Bachelor?s theses.

• Assist in laboratory administration and manage technical documentation.

• Prepare publications, reports, and presentations for scientific journals, conferences, and diverse audiences.

Your Profile

• Highly motivated and curious with a PhD in physics, chemistry, physical chemistry or related fields
• Knowledge in optical and/or magnetic resonance spectroscopy is required
• Experience with low temperature experiments is advantageous
• Independent communication and cooperation with the project partners, including the organisation of the exchange of samples and measurement campaigns
• Self-motivated, detail and goal orientated work style with the ability to solve scientific and practical challenges independently, coupled with team spirit in a multidisciplinary environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Additional German language skills are an advantage.
