The tasks
include research data management (RDM) in accordance with FAIR principles to ensure long-term data availability and reusability.
Bioinformatics analysis and integration of single-cell, bulk RNA-seq, metabolomics and other omics datasets within the framework of TRR417
Development and application of statistical methods for the evaluation of large-scale biological datasets
Visualization and interpretation of complex molecular biological results in close collaboration with experimental partners
Preparation and publication of scientific publications as well as presentation of results at internal and external specialist events
The know-how for this
Completed studies (Master's or PhD) in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science or a related field
Familiarity with the FAIR principles and their practical implementation
Experience with biomedical data and metadata standards (e.g. MIAME, MINSEQE, OME)
Practice in data versioning (e.g. Git) and workflow management (e.g. Snakemake, Nextflow)
Experience in the analysis of high-throughput data (e.g. RNA-seq, single-cell omics)
Confident use of Python and/or R as well as common Bioinformatics frameworks (e.g. Scanpy, Seurat, Bioconductor)
In-depth knowledge of statistics and machine learning, ideally with experience in graph neural networks (GNNs)
Strong teamwork skills, independent and structured working methods and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
