The Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Geodesy at Graz University of Technology is offering a tenure track position in the field Applied Geometry.
Graz University of Technology is looking for highly motivated and qualified researchers in a field of applied geometry which fits current research at the Institute of Geometry, and which strengthens and complements this research: e.g. in geometry processing, discrete differential geometry, geometric data analysis, and other areas.
The duties of this position include teaching in Mathematics, Data Science and teacher education, as well as engineering subjects, in both German and English; publication activity and presence at international events, the building up of a research group, applying for research grants; advising bachelor, master and Ph.D. theses; as well as committee work.
Employment Requirements
A doctorate in Mathematics or equivalent relevant field is required. Desired qualifications are teaching experience at universities, team skills, experience in the acquisition and management of research grants, and visibility in the international scientific community via publications.
Selection Criteria
- Excellent qualification in Research and Teaching
- Visible involvement into international research community
- Appropriate didactic and pedagogical skills
- Experience in teaching on the bachelor, master and doctoral level
- Experience in the acquisition and management of third party funded projects
- Sufficient leadership experience and the ability to lead a research team
- The ability to work in a team and willingness for cooperation within and outside the university
- Proficiency in English. German language skills as necessary for teaching should be acquired within 1 year.

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 77,567.00 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

This tenure track position initially is a University Assistant (with doctorate, 40h/week). There is promotion to assistant professor after a qualification agreement has been signed. Promotion to associate professor with tenure happens after positive evaluation with regard to fulfilling the qualification agreement.
