FROM IDEA TO PROTOTYPE
We are seeking to hire a proactive and highly motivated post-doc to join our ERC-Project PRIME. Employment is intended to start on February 1, 2026 at the Greifswald site.
Postdoctoral candidate (f/m/d)
Redox-Proteomics
(initially) limited to 45 months / Weekly working time 40 hours / Remuneration according to TV-L remuneration group 13 (gross salary range depending on professional experience, see remuneration table 2025)
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify oxidative changes in proteins and correlate them with biological/immunological cellular responses;
- Measure oxidized proteins using mass spectrometry and evaluate, map, and categorize posttranslational modifications;
- Investigation of various oxidants and cold plasmas and their influence on proteins and their immunogenicity;
- Develop analysis strategies for large data sets and correlation matrix using programming languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.);
- Scientific supervision of undergraduate and doctoral students;
- Exchange and discussion of results within in the team;
- Analyze, interpret and present collected data and prepare scientific publications and third-party funding applications.
YOUR PROFILE:
- PhD in biology, (bio)chemistry, bioinformatics or a related field
- High affinity to data and large-data-driven science, as well as strong logical understanding
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and programming languages
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research into protein mechanisms of action
- Flexibility in scientific activities in the laboratory and office
- Problem-solving skills in decoding relations between bioinformatic, biochemical, and biological data sets
- High degree of commitment, motivation, independent work, teamwork skills, sense of responsibility and reliability
- Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) and preferably also German
