Your responsibilities

Duties primarily include teaching and research. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.

  • creation of cation-site disordered TMN nanoprobes and their characterisation
  • preparation of experiments at the synchrotron (beamtime proposal, characterisation using laboratory equipment, simulations)
  • identification and fabrication of samples for conformal mapping
  • establishment of collaboration on TMNs for time-resolved experiments within the framework of ‚CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter‘ II (sample delivery, pump-probe experiment)
  • conducting and coordinating experiments at the synchrotron/XFEL
  • teaching duties (4 LVS) in the relevant field during teaching times

Your profile

A university degree in a relevant field plus doctorate.

A university degree in Physics, Nanoscience, Materials Science, Chemistry or other closely related areas. This is a highly interdisciplinary project and postdocs with an interdisciplinary, international background are highly encouraged to apply.

Proven experience with X-ray spectroscopic methods (synchrotron/XFEL) and sound knowledge of data analysis and interpretation are required. Knowledge of EXAFS double edge refinement, XANES data analysis using FDMNES and FEFF simulation is required. Experience with in situ XAS/XES experiments, the synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles in solution and their characterization, as well as PXRD Rietveld refinement are a great advantage.
