On behalf of an exclusive client, we are seeking an entrepreneurial leadership personality for the location Sibiu, Romania, to take on the role of Managing Director / Director General (Romania) – Stainless Steel & Pressure Vessels.

Our client is a highly successful, medium-sized industrial company with decades of experience in the manufacturing of high-quality stainless steel components and pressure vessels within a regulated environment. The company is regarded as a hidden champion in its segment and is distinguished by long-term profitability, excellent customer relationships, and an outstanding reputation for quality and reliability.

The Sibiu site serves as a central extended manufacturing hub within the group and has been strategically developed in recent years through EU funding, with significant investments in state-of-the-art machinery, automation, and infrastructure. Against the backdrop of a planned generational succession of the current Managing Director (handover starting in 2026, retirement in 2027), this position offers a rare opportunity to further develop a financially healthy company and lead it sustainably into the 21st century—particularly in the areas of digitalization, Industry 4.0, organizational development, and leadership.

Working closely with the German shareholders, you will assume a key role with substantial entrepreneurial freedom and a long-term perspective.

Responsibilities

• Following a structured and comprehensive onboarding by the current Managing Director, you will assume** full P&L and overall management responsibility **for the company
• You will lead the day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on people leadership, process stability, quality assurance, and customer relationships
• Acting as the central interface, you will ensure a transparent, trust-based, and efficient collaboration with the German parent company and its shareholders
• You will** shape and drive the strategic development** of the company, particularly in digitalization initiatives, ERP implementation, Industry 4.0, and sustainable process optimization
• You will build and strengthen a high-performing second management level, develop leadership talent systematically, and establish clear structures and accountability
• You will be responsible for forward-looking workforce and succession planning
• You will take a deliberately hands-on approach to selected key topics, such as key account management, optimization of critical production and business processes, or cross-functional transformation projects
• Last but not least you will ensure the** long-term competitiveness, stability, and profitability** of the company within a regulated industrial environment

Profile

• Completed commercial or technical education and/or academic degree
• Several years of experience as Managing Director / General Manager of a manufacturing company
• Strong expertise in stainless steel production, ideally including experience in pressure vessel manufacturing
• Deep **technical and process-related understanding **combined with solid operational business acumen
• Willingness to travel to Germany on a quarterly basis and to maintain a daily on-site presence in Sibiu
• Ideally based in the region or willing to relocate
• Fluent Romanian and good command of English (German is a plus but not mandatory)
