The project aimed at improving the performance of the AFM carrier in the magnetic levitation (MagLev) positioning stage in TNO based on capacitive sensors measurements. In this research, a novel feedforward controller, that can adapt its parameters online to local variations in dynamics was constructed, implemented, tested and analyzed. Experimental validation reveals an improvement in control error by a factor of 2 in comparison to classical feedforward for adaptation time below 0.046 s.

As a teaching assistant for the Control Engineering course (4CM00) at Eindhoven University of Technology, my responsibilities include guiding student through exercises and course materials as well as helping grading their reports. The course covers basic control concepts such as measuring and analyzing FRFs, Nyquist criteria for stability, feedback controller design for performance, and feedforward control.

The internship aimed at improving the performance of the AFM carrier in the magnetic levitation (MagLev) positioning stage in TNO. A novel position measurement algorithm was developed and analyzed to eliminate a position dependent performance deterioration caused by the failure of the former algorithm to estimate carrier position reliably based on Hall measurements. Experimental evidence shows an error reduction up to 20 times at certain locations.

Control systems technology

GPA: 4.969 GPA out of 5 - cum laude. The integrated engineering speciality equips students with a well-rounded engineering education with a focus on mechatronics. Upon the completion of my thesis, I developed a simulation for the hardware of an embedded system for a partner of Proekspert AS.
