    Senior Research Scientist

    Egypt Nanotechnology Center

My work during these two years was divided between the research activities of two projects in collaboration between IBM research and EGNC; Egypt nanotechnology center (which was funded by the Egyptian ministries of Communication and Higher Education), and participating in the preliminary design of the EGNC labs where I, together with the other EGNC team members, worked closely with the design firm and the IBM engineers to conceptualize the initial strategies of the center.

    Visiting Scientist

    IBM T.J. Watson Research Center

    • Optimized the growth conditions of graphene • Reduced the sheet resistance of graphene to a value suitable for transparent electrode applications using chemical doping and metallic busbars. • Modified graphene by electrostatic interaction for biosensor applications. • Proved that graphene is a very strong fluorescence quencher. • Forest carbon nanotubes (FCNT) by plasma polymerization for live cells and biotechnology applications.
