Prof. Andrew Hill

Following the April 2019 vote of the Board of Trustees, I was promoted to Associate Professor of Philosophy at St. Philip's College, San Antonio, Texas.

I have been named a Fellow in the Education Partnership for Internationalizing Curriculum (EPIC), which brings together faculty and academic staff to work collaboratively with colleagues at Stanford for one academic year on projects aimed at internationalizing course curricula and producing innovative curricular materials for use in community college classrooms. Fellows represent a broad disciplinary cross-section, including the humanities, social sciences, mathematics and hard sciences.

In August 2013, I was hired as an Assistant Professor to teach Philosophy and Ethics at St. Philip's College, San Antonio, Texas.

I taught Philosophy and Ethics, and served on the International Education Committee and the Peace and Conflict Studies Committee.

I was hired as the Assistant Director of the Institute for Religious and Pastoral Studies, and we spent the next year transforming the Institute into the new School of Ministry. I also taught "Canon Law" with Michael Dunnigan, and "Pastoral Administration and Management" with Daniel Luby. We also began the University of Dallas Ministry Conference in 2007, the conference has grown drastically, with nearly 5,200 participants in 2012.

As director of the Service Learning Center, he reported to the Vice President for Student Development. He provided overall leadership for the Center, which included strategic planning and budgeting, and supervision of the Center’s five members of the professional and non-exempt staff.

After working in the Service Learning Center for one year as the Associate Director (2001-2002), I was promoted to Interim Director. In this role, I had overall responsibility for the Center, including managing its budget and supervising the staff.

Hill was responsible for helping implement the local, regional, national and international educational and service program of the Service Leaning Center. For example, he led service trips in San Antonio, Texas and to New Orleans, Louisiana.

He was the Senior Judicial Officer for the University, and conducted over 1,000 formal and informal hearings through the student judicial affairs system. This involved working with campus and city police, prosecutors, outside legal counsel, and lawyers representing students in various cases.
