Responsible for establishing a new office servicing brokers within the North West region. This involved recruitment of an underwriter, devising and implementing a regional underwriting strategy and pricing strategy, in line with the corporate goals, and a broker management and development strategy.

Responsible for the management of the existing motor fleet account and underwriting new business. Initiated regional cross sell strategy across all commercial lines products. Key responsibilities: • Underwrite new and existing motor fleet enquiries; • Act as relationship manager for a panel of brokers and intermediaries across the North West region; • Train and mentor assistant underwriter, and also graduate trainee; • Utilise management information on a monthly basis for production of monthly repo

Responsible for the management of a team of 4 underwriters, together with responsibility of underwriting new & existing business. Key responsibilities: • Manage and lead a team of 4 underwriters; • Senior underwriting authority holder within the region; • Underwrite new business & renewal motor fleet risks; • Manage and develop relationships with a panel of brokers; • Production of monthly reports for regional management & Head Office; • Training and developing commercial underwriters.

Responsible for establishing new regional motor fleet account within an established regional office, within the North East of England. Key responsibilities: • Underwrite new and existing motor fleet enquiries; • Act as regional portfolio manager for motor fleet account, responsible for underwriting performance; • Develop, manage and maintain relationships with regional panel of brokers; • Train and mentor assistant underwriter.

From 1999-2005 various underwriting roles held at Norwich Union starting as Customer Service Advisor, Personal Lines Motor Underwriter, Motor Scheme Underwriter, through to Commercial Motor Lead Underwriter.
