Anne Hammerstein

My role involves the support of the acumen and mirrorball instruments and I work primarily with our European customers. I’m responsible for off-site instrument demonstrations, training and support. I’m also involved in new assay development to generate new protocols for our customers. I promote awareness of our product range by delivering scientific seminars and through publications in the appropriate scientific/industry publications, as well as writing scientific content for our corporate literature.

• Developed methods to site-specifically incorporate unnatural amino acids into proteins in mammalian cells by using genetically-encoded tRNA/synthetase pairs • Engineered lentivectors for gene delivery into cells that cannot be transfected • Established fluorescent and bioluminscent assays of unnatural amino acid incorporation using different analysis platforms (flow cytometry, microplate reader, fluorescence and bioluminscence microscopy)

• Tutor for 1st year undergraduate students • Taught classes of 4-14 students • Monitored students’ progress and liaised with college tutors
