V.I.E. of 18 month for Saint-Gobain (Boston, USA): leading a project on colloidal silica

Training period of 6 month at the Nagoya Institute of Technology (Japan) on fabrication and characterization of complex carbides refractories as part of FIRE program. Thermo-mechanical tests made on samples as: XRD, SEM, Ultrasounds, nano-indentation, SENB, thermal expansion, 3 points flexion, porosity/density… Samples have been made by mixing powders of carbon, boron carbide, aluminium and alumina platelets thanks to SPS method.

Internship of 14weeks in production in Villeroy & Boch Fliesen GmbH (Merzig, Germany) on colorimetric research for floor tiles. Find the color needed by working on the composition of slurries, enamels and pigments proportions. Put the samples directly on the production’s lines and compare the results with the reference.

Training period of 14weeks in SINTEF (Oslo, Norway) on fuel cells and ceramic membranes. Try to get the smoothest surface between anode and intermediate layer. Different processes have been used to make samples as slip casting, cold pressing and tape casting. Raw materials used were powders of starch, nickel oxide and Ca-doped LaNbO4. Several tests have been managed: SEM, deep coating, zeta potential and grain particle size experimentations.

Student at ENSCI, Engineering school at Limoges (France), refractory materials speciality. Beside my engineer diplom, in November 2010: Engineering degree in ceramic’s materials with FIRE (Federation for International Refractory Research and Education) program’s accreditation.
