Aravinda Pandurangi

As a Chief Engineer in QuEST Airbus Offshore Development Centre (ODC), I am responsible for quality of each delivery in the New Product Development or Continuous Product Development programs. I am responsible to develop, enhance competency of the engineers by mentoring, training and by providing guidance. I am responsible to develop checkers and pre-approvers in the static stress and F&DT areas.

I was responsible for the quality of all deliverables. I led a dedicated team of 15 engineers who delivered Static Stress and F&DT Type Certification reports on the Composite components.

I was responsible to deliverable quality, mentoring. As the Airbus account was in growth phase, I was involved in the bid and customer evaluation processes.

Overall responsibility towards quality in GKN, Deihl Air Cabins and GE Aviation ODCs. I was chiefly responsible to establish a team from young engineering graduates, who delivered FEM, static stress and F&DT Type Certification reports on the Wing Trailing Edge components. I travelled to customer location in UK, to establish the technical process and co-ordinate with the customer which built confidence and credibility on our team.

Key responsibility was technical leadership, establishment of relations with customer. I was part of the seed team which established GKN ODC in QuEST. And as part of this I travelled onsite, wherein I developed load downselection methodology. I provided technical leadership in the concept development work and travelled to customer location for deeper understanding and closer interactions.

I was part of the team who developed core competency in the repair analysis areas. As a stress engineer and being at customer site, I assessed and signed in "prepared by" column of all types of in-service repairs. I led a team in the stress assessment of leading edge modifications for Indian military aircraft program.

I started my career in HAL as an analysis engineer and worked my way up to being a signing authority. I was part of team which developed trainer and fighter aircrafts. Duties included Aeroelastic calculations, stress analysis, FEM modelling and analysis and test / test correlation support. When I left the organization, I was signing on the drawings from the stress and dynamics department.
