My role at Pick n Pay encompasses a broad range of duties, though primarily the day-to-day management of approximately 30 developers, analysts, and testers who support and develop the Pick n Pay mobile app, online store, and enterprise applications. In addition, I am responsible for the research and development of new initiatives in the customer-facing applications space.

As the founding technical member of Domino Digital, my responsibilities spanned everything from maintaining servers to liaising with clients to writing code. Domino was founded with the intention of developing products that weren't only beautiful to look at, but also provided measurable business value. Domino Digital was acquired by the M&C Saatchi group in June 2016 and rebranded Dalmatian Advertising.

In preparation to return home to Cape Town, I again began taking on consulting roles. Clients and projects included: - Ogilvy & Mather's then nascent digital capability, Ogilvy Interactive. - Gloo Digital Design, servicing MINI South Africa and SA Tourism. - Vodacom, assisting the development of the then-new customer-facing and back-end Vodaworlld portals. - Skoola, developing a communication platform for schools on then-current feature phones.

Returning to Aqua full-time as a senior developer, my responsibilities were primarily related to .Net development for larger accounts such as such as Southern Sun and Nokia. During this time I was made technical lead on both the Samsung and newly-acquired Nokia EMEA accounts, working with .Net, SharePoint, and Java on a daily basis. In addition to this, I was occasionally required to get involved with campaign projects, most frequently for Samsung, producing microsites in Flash, HTML, and .Net as required.

I resigned from Aqua in order to focus on establishing myself independently. As it happens, Aqua contracted me almost immediately as I had filled a key bridging role between their design, development, and Flash teams during my time there and my responsibilities continued largely as they had before I left, albeit in an increasingly senior capacity. In addition to my role at Aqua, I serviced several independent clients during this period.

Although hired into the design team at Aqua, my ability with Flash and PHP saw me transferred to the development team shortly thereafter. My initial responsibilities included maintenance of Classic ASP code as well as new development where required, though this more frequently in .Net. Some months later, I was selected to join Aqua’s newly-established dedicated Flash development team, responsible for campaign site development for clients such as BMW, SAB, and Sun International.

I was employed at Edu-Touch as a Production Manager, tasked with managing the creative team. My responsibilities included project planning, conceptualisation, and script-writing, however, due to my prior programming and design experience I also contributed to the production of projects, from layout work to 3D modelling and animation, to programming in Lingo and .Net.

TWM began as an above-the-line agency and hired me as part of their move into the digital space. My responsibilities were initially the development of interactive multimedia using Director (Lingo) and websites developed using Flash. During this period we pitched for and won the Mugg & Bean account for both South Africa and the United Kingdom, led by my design work, and thus I was promoted to Art Director.
