Dr. Caio Alves

I conducted research at the intersection of pure and applied mathematics, specializing in discrete probability theory and its computational applications. My work leveraged expertise in random graphs and percolation theory to develop mathematical frameworks for analyzing complex systems.

I continued my research on connectivity properties of random graph models under the supervision of professor Gábor Pete at the Rényi Institute of Mathematics. I continued to learn about algorithms and data structures, and started to learn the Julia programming language.

Professor Artem Sapozhnikov invited me for a three year postdoctoral position under his supervision at the University of Leipzig, where we continued our work on dependent percolation. I also learned programming on my own time, learning Python, algotithms and data structures.

I worked as a researcher right after my PhD, working on projects related to dependent percolation processes and connectivity properties of random graphs.

During my postdoc at Unicamp, I applied for a scholarship to spend one year at the Max Planck Institute fo Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig, working with professor Artem Sapozhnikov on dependent percolation processes.

I studied pure math during my PhD, researching probability theory. Specifically, I studied percolation theory, an area of probability concerned with connectivity properties of large random networks.
