The Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) is the employment based route into teaching for graduates, to attain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) after training and working in a paid teaching role. The training programme is delivered by EM Direct GTP Consortium which is a UK government Training and Development Agency (TDA) Accredited Provider of Employment Based Initial Teacher Training (EBITT).

Developed the ESF Research Conferences as a high-level, high-profile scheme addressing state-of-the-art science in all disciplines, including inter-disciplinarity. Implemented strategies to operate and to promote the ESF Research Conferences Scheme through a partnership approach with ESF Member Organisations and with other European and international organisations, including universities, and local sponsors.

Managed a programme of over 500 European Research Conferences, including developing standardized procedures and a database for organizing 40-50 conferences a year, attended by around 100 research scientists. Managed a team of Conference Organizers, negotiated arrangements and prices with conference venues, prepared conference budgets, managed EC funding contracts (Human Capital and Mobility, Human Potential and Training and Mobility of Researchers programmes) and funding from other sponsors.

Organized scientific committee meetings throughout Europe, including drafting and preparing documents and reports, minute-taking, and travel arrangements. Administered a programme of research fellowships including processing applications, submitting applications to European referees, liaising with successful candidates and managing the award and transfer of funds.
