Dr. Christian Perret

Project manager of the Mobility and Transport Microcensus, an extensive survey about passenger mobility and travel behaviour in Switzerland. The survey takes place every 5 years as one of the key components of the Swiss national census. Its data is used for many cantonal and national traffic models as well as for a large number of analyses.

Wrote lecture notes used for exam preparation classes in Econometrics at the University of Zurich.

Designed Blue Diamond Athletic Displays' new web site.

Waiting for a US work authorization while in the USA (my wife had started to work there).

Taught mathematics to 8th -10th grade students.

Taught mathematics and Microsoft Excel to 8th -11th grade students.

Backpacked the Americas with my wife, from Vancouver to Chile, via the USA, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. Practiced my English and Spanish, and hiked in the Andes.

Worked on the following projects: 1) Doctoral thesis (Devised new numerical methods for solving stochastic differential equations; Ran large parallel simulations) 2) Lecture Coordinator/Teaching Assistant (Coordinated 9 mathematical lectures and their associated exercise classes; Supervised other teaching assistants; Held exercise classes weekly) 3) ICIAM07 Congress Coordinator: Head of the Technical Support Team (led a team of more than 170 people).

Conducted telephone and face-to-face interviews for market research purposes.

Held weekly mathematical exercise classes for BSc level students.

Devised and implemented Matlab programs for the visualization of the finite element approximation of the solution to partial differential equations.

Translated new website content from German to French and uploaded it on the company's website. Entered telecom data in the company's database using SQL and searched the database for inconsistencies

Organized a business survey on various branches of trade in the context of the project "The importance of tourism for the Canton of Vaud's economy". Contacted the polled companies, made the necessary inquiry calls and interviews. Controlled the return of questionnaires and assessed the statistical quality of their content. Cleansed the collected statistical data using SPSS.
