PhD with a focus on Machine Learning in Cancer Research, worked on methods for biological sequence analysis for cancer (e.g. shRNA efficacy prediction with string kernels).

Summer internship in David Heckerman’s lab. Project yet to be determined, most likely algorithmic improvements to Linear Mixed Models for GWAS or application of Probabilistic Graphical Models to medical data.

Developed Machine Learning algorithms for Multitask Learning (Shogun), improved algorithms relevant to gene finding in Python and C++.

Developed machine learning / data mining software for prevention of malnutrition in cancer patients. Designed and implemented various data-analysis and data-visualization projects in Python, Java, Java-Script, PHP and R.

Developed Matlab software for statistical analysis of biological sequences. Created web-interfaces for data visualization of gene expression data in Python and Java, designed and implemented a Python library for cluster computing using the Sun Grid Engine.

Developed software for computational image analysis of radiologic 3D images in Java and Matlab, performed statistical evaluations of biological experiments in R.

Designed and implemented web-site for online store, including back-end running a database for handling customers and orders.

Implemented web-site and realized interactive experience using Java applets.
