We study statistical methods in supervised learning for non-life insurance pricing such as generalized linear models, generalized additive models, Bayesian models, neural networks, classification and regression trees, random forests, gradient boosting machines and support vector machines. Moreover, we present unsupervised learning methods applied to telematics car driving data.

Currently I am working in the Pricing team for non-life insurance within AXA Winterthur. Focus of my daily work is in motor insurance,

I have been working on my PhD in climate statistics: "Bayesian Statistical Methods for the Analysis of Multi-model Climate Predictions". The PhD has been financed by the PML working group, a group of 28 insurers and reinsurers in the trade credit business. The study is about the loss given default.

Duties included statistical consulting, project work and data analysis, schooling in statistical software for students and external people.
