Early Stage Researcher in Metrology with an Optical sensor
I worked within both an international multidisciplinary team of 10 Ph.D. students and the CERN Metrology Group, on the design of a sensor (the SESHAT) aiming at reducing the uncertainty linked to the axis positioning of a reference stretched wire within a Coordinate Measuring Machine. The study of this sensor implied precision mechanics with very tight tolerances, reaching the state of the art in different domains including metrology, grinding, 3D printing, air bearings, piezo motors...
