FPromotion of cooperation within regional authorities and business entities as well as research in different fields of water management, e.g. sanitary engineering, energy production, tourisms, waste water treatment, water supply and water protection. Promotion of transdisciplinary projects in collaboration with stakeholders to support regional economic development in the Swiss mountain regions and respond to the local needs in the field of sustainable use of water management.

Conceptualisation of integrated and transdisciplinary education and out-reach to promote information and knowledge transfer between different disciplines in the field of environment and sustainability of ETH Zurich, the Swiss federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag), the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL) and ETH Lausanne.

Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center (PSC), ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich and the University of Basel Development and management of research and teaching in collaboration with different organizations, such as institutes at universities, industries and public in the field of environmental sciences, agriculture and plant science. Research in the field of water ecotoxicology. Scientific study on assessment of ecological effects of pollutants, development of methods for detection of pollution in aquatic ecosystems and development of measures to reduce environmental damage.
