Transfer Company of Qimonda AG

PTG gGmbH = "Transfergesellschaft" ( transitional company) due to the insolvency of Qimonda AG.

Full responsibility for starting and ramp-up of the new Development Center (DC) for Qimonda in Suzhou, China as a new legal entity. Managing daily operations of full-scope DRAM development site. Establishment of connections to local authorities. Kick-off cooperation with top tier universities and TUM to guarantee hiring of best talent. In 07/2008 56 employees were on board, working on the first development project that was transferred successfully ahead of schedule and under budget by end of 10/2008.

Program Management for two 1Gb DDR II memory chips with high volume and key importance. Both projects with a total budget of ~€ 35 Mio. were realized in cooperation with an external partner (JV): Nanya Technology, Taiwan. Steering Development team of ~200 engineers in Cary (NC, USA), Houston (TX, USA), Dresden and Munich (Germany), Porto (Portugal) and Taipei (Taiwan). Successful qualification and fast production ramp of both projects within schedule and budget.

Personnel management of “Product and Test” department in RTP, Infineon’s largest regional development center. Resource planning (headcount, testers, remote resources etc.). Recruiting: ramp of department from 12 to 88 engineers. Consulting of the growing but inexperienced development center RTP to introduce efficient structures and improve skill level. Drive transformation of RTP to a leading edge Development Center.

Project test team leader for 256M DDR memory chip in 140nm technology. Transfer of product engineering know-how and methodology to RTP. Successful qualification and ramp of Infineon’s historically largest project filling 80% of Infineon’s worldwide production capacity for more than a year. Generation of intellectual property (9 patents).

Major contributions to Infineon's Module and Application test concepts. Reorganization of group, support recruiting, mentoring of new hires. Business process owner Burn In. Hands-on product engineering for 16M, 256M and 512M SDRAMs.

Development engineer in Memory Products Division. Product engineering of 16M SDRAMs. Definition of test programs. Yield analysis and optimization. Test coverage improvement.

Official Personnel Monitoring Service. Development of a microprocessor controlled spectroscopic personnel neutron dosimeter based on Silicon semiconductor detectors and neural networks. Responsibility for three employees as well as coordination with external cooperation partners. Demonstrator finished successfully in 6/97, two patents granted.
