Florian Weber

Part of the Data & Analytics Team, working primarily on Service Catalogs and Bench-marking. Worked on proposals for Security Penetration Testing and IT Transformation. ITIL v3 certified.

PhD candidate and a member of the Formal Analysis, Theory and Algorithms (FATA) group in the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow. Part of the ABCD Project Group and currently associated with the project "From Data Types to Session Types: a Basis for Concurrency and Distribution". Research focuses on the analysis of the use of Session Types for Protocol Documentation.

Teaching various courses. 1) MSc. Information Management & Preservation - Description, Cataloguing & Navigation: XML template use, catalogue generation & formatting. 2) Multimedia Analysis & Design: critical and practical web design in HTML/CSS & SVG. 3) Data Analysis, Visualisation & Communication: developing Python laboratory sessions for data science. 4) Digital Media and Information Studies 1 & 2: J-Script, XML, VRML, 3D Modelling, Databases, HTML/CSS.

Teaching students in the following courses: Ocean Diver, Sports Diver and Dive Leader.

Providing technical assistance during the enrolment process.

Teaching Undergraduate Students in Computer Basics, Databases and HTML/CSS. Supervising practical sessions in the Computer Laboratory. Preparing students for their assignments and exams. Grading student assignments and exams.

Up-selling & preparing various coffee’s and snacks to the customers liking. Ticket control and entrance management and coordination. Bar-tending and organising the Break Rotas.

Organising presentations and training schedules. Training new Course Representatives.

Organising shifts, social events and the work station for the volunteers. Training new volunteers and handling advertisement.

Taking calls, giving out information, providing a listening ear. Received an MV Volunteering Award 2010 for excellent work and commitment.

Presenting the Arts & Media Informatics course at the University of Glasgow Open Day. Showing example student work and talking to potential applicants.

Reviewing the School of Psychology at the University of Glasgow. Examining the Teaching and Learning Experience. Liaising on the Student's behalf.

Project conceptualisation and management with Typo3, upholding deadlines. Working as part of a team and being responsible for my own project. Matching the designs to programming structures whilst paying attention to user friendliness. Creating designs specifically according to clients wishes or preparing sample designs. Designing in fine detail in Photoshop, HTML, CSS and J-Script.

Updating, maintaining and acquiring hard and software. Network administration of the Linux Server. Handling IT acquisitions efficiently and accurately. Training personnel successful in usage of new equipment. Providing support in events and transport management. Responsible for the technical/sound management of various aspect of the annual festival and designed some of the public relations material. Coordinated the stage management of one stage during the main festival.

Solving software and hardware problems directly at the customers office or at the company. Setting up new hardware time and space efficient and advising the customer in proper usage. Network administration and maintenance, providing telephone support for customers.
