Activities: Technical report writing, scientific research to compose said report, metallography and optical microscopy. Focus on automotive grade steel.

Intern, responsible to help in metallographic preparation and results analysis for two PhD students. Activities: Metallography, electrochemical polishing, optical and laser microscopy, analysis of images from said microscopies, experiment process improvement.

Analysis of hard pressed steel product, to guarantee that it was up to standards. Activities: Technical report writing, scientific research, metallography, result analysis, hardness testing.

Analysis of product quality after heat treatment. Activities: Report writing, research for said reports, metallography, image acquisition and analysis, hardness testing.

The CIMATEC Jr is a “Junior Company”, where students get to make real engineering projects, while being supervised by a professor. I joined the company right in its foundation, and we had to focus on the basics such as company objectives, procedures standardization, bureaucracy, company culture and basics of dealing with the work environment. As no one had had any contact with formal work within the first year of University, we had to focus more on the “How to sell our product” and how to adapt said product
