Then I was asked to take over the leadership at Albéa for Supply Chain projects worldwide. Scope was: Company-wide Supply Chain Policy development • Supply Chain Comprehensive Audit concept definition & implementation in Germany, Indonesia, India, USA • Supply Chain Maturity model development to define standards for global logistic efficiency • Company-wide implementation of a social SCM network using WEB 2.0 technologies • Global Supply Chain budget/target definition & follow up for all (34) Albéa plants.

In this position I designed supply chains in Europe (GE, PL, RU, FR, IT) with links to US and Asian partners. Daily jobs were • Logistic target definition and follow up • Results consolidation and reporting to upper European general managemt level • Set up of a Supply Chain Organization in Russia (structure and operational sequence organization, employees selection, training and daily business support)

At the German tubes plant a team of five department heads reported directly to me. Around 40 team members in procurement, work preparation, production control, production development, logistics, warehouse and despatch supported me in order to control operations and to secure availability of goods. Customer satisfaction, OTIF, lead time management and inv. level were the main driver.

My starting point in Supply Chain Management was a german global market leader in a specialised industrial niche (deep drawing of aluminium design products for the cosmetics market).

My first company where I learned how to survive in day to day business after school.
