Graeme Campbell

In my current position I develop finite element models to study the mechanical behavior of bone in diseases such as diabetes, multiple myeloma and osteoporosis using C++ and Abaqus software. I am responsible for supervising all CT projects and technical staff/students, and I regularly network with scientists in academics and industry to initiate collaborative multi-disciplinary research projects.

Studied the progression of osteoporosis and effect of treatment on bone structure and mechanics using computed tomography and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry. I developed computer programs for image analysis and 3D visualization of bone structure, worked closely with pharmaceutical firms for collaboration, and conducted lectures and tutorials for undergraduate students.

Conducted first-stage atmospheric pressure combustion tests on burners for gas turbines and tested burner configurations to optimize power output

Measured muscle activity via EMG signal and force output in athletes during and after exercise and developed computer programs to read and analyze data
