I utilised user research and service design to redesign an existing educational science service and suggest new pathways for enhancing student participation and achievement in science. I independently designed the project methodology, and carried out the research, analysis, and ideation phases. I used literature research, semi-structured interviewing, brainstorming, observation studies, affinity/relationship mapping, content analysis , and user journey mapping, inthis project

role I organised and tutored a two-hour weekly tutorial for stage one psychology students. I also critiqued their assignments. Within the tutorials I worked at an individual and group level, with the overall aim to facilitate students learning. This role allowed me to advance my communication skills, to explain material in layman’s terms, and my ability to adjust my tutoring style to individual learning styles.

I completed a short qualitative research report on the quality of Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga Mental Health Services for their stakeholders. I planned the project, developed interview questions, carried out qualitative interviews, and completed a report outlining what the service did well and the improvements they could make. This report resulted in a streamlining of their referral service, which was later used to advise on the improvement of service provision throughout the organisation.
