New business sales position on the Clinical Efectiveness division of Wolters Kluwer Health.

I was responsible of the CUSTOM business unit. This unit developed tailored IT solutions in the digital health scope. As BU director I was responsible of both business development and area management tasks, supervising the technical team of the area.

I was responsible of business development activities of Masternaut (British multinational leader on the telematics industry) on assigned regions. I started managing East and South regions of Spain and eventually I was also assigned Cataluña and North regions. The position was home-based, traveling to visit end customers or partners on a regular basis. Our main partner was the telco Telefonica.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, I carried out sales activities, definition of technological solutions and supervision of the delivery of projects. During these three years I also coordinated the technical staff at the office (6 people), and managed key projects. Solutions offered by the company included ad-hoc software projects, systems integration with Oracle tools (OSB), and implementation of open source frameworks (Liferay, Alfresco, etc.).

Tasks associated with my position included market prospection, new business development, nurturing existing clients, elaboration of technical and economic proposals, negotiation, closing and subsequent monitoring of implementation of the projects. During my work at the company, I managed to increase significantly its presence in the public sector, particularly due to a project with the largest hospital in the region.

I managed complex software projects of several years of duration, being responsible of meeting customer expectations on the outcomes of the project and coordinating multidisciplinary teams of up to 12 people. I also participated in the elaboration of commercial proposals and in several R&D projects from the VI framework programme of the European Commission.

Reporting to the Product Manager, I was part of the R&D team developing software for EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) stations, performing analysis, design and development tasks in areas like EDI documents transmission through Value Added Networks and security related software (ciphering and digital signature). I also performed support and training tasks to EDI consultants.
