Click to edit position descriptionStudent Mentors work alongside the Disability Team colleagues, assisting in the ongoing support of students with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum. As a Note-taker, I accompany students to lectures and make clear, concise and easy-to-follow notes on the subject matter at hand.

As a Research Intern I I assisted the team with research on existing and potential new projects; and helped with contact and information management. My job also included drafting letters and briefings and providing general logistical/organisational support to the team as required.

My role included generating prospects through extensive online and offline research, identifying and qualifying key decision makers (Phone, email, LinkedIn, etc.), research targeted markets and preparing support material and undertaking ad-hoc pieces of work in support of Business Development objectives. My outgoing personality and public speaking experience was valued, and I had the opportunity to partake in various meetings and events to present my research to my supervisor and their clients.

Module choices include Interpreting British Party Politics 1906-1979, Empire and Globalisation and Gender Society and Culture in early modern England. My dissertation was on the Analysis of German and English media coverage of Thatcher's foreign policy regarding German reunification.

Final year module choices included Medicine in Britain, c.1750-1990, History of the USA since 1877 and History and Historiography of the Holocaust. My dissertation was on the role of the domestic press in shaping Austrian public sentiment during the Waldheim Affair in postwar Austria.
