Taught geology, earth science and ecology to Btech and Mtech students

Analyzing the impact of different land use systems on soil bacterial and fungal community structure and functions and isolating culturable microbes for restoration of degraded lands. We use high throughput molecular methods such CLPP, PLFA, and soil genome sequencing through Illumina sequencer.

Analyzing carbon and nitrogen dynamics of salt-affected soil.

Understanding the effectiveness of different land use systems, developed degraded lands, to restore soil health. Measured the success of these land use systems with a range of soil quality indicators i.e., physical, chemical, and biological. Published 6 research articles and 1 review paper.

Developing Agrotechnology for the cultivation of Jatropha curcas on degraded and marginal lands in India. Published three research papers, and two reviews in high-impact (>15) journals. One review is cited >400 times.

Outreach Activities: Organizing Training Programs for different stakeholders (farmers, women, children, government officials) for household remedies, conservation agriculture, biodiversity, and wellbeing. Developing dissemination literature such as pamphlets, posters, charts, booklets, etc.
