• Synthesis of copolyesters by melt polycondensation (development and optimization of the method). • Characterization of copolyesters: chromatography (GPC), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR), thermal analysis (DSC, TGA).

• Developing, characterizing and qualifying new and current in use products and materials: Epoxy adhesives, Polychloroprene-based sealants, Polyurethane foams and sealants. • Main accomplishment: improvement of the formulation of a polychloroprene-based sealant.

• Basic and advanced Organic Chemistry courses: assisting/giving guidance to students carrying out experimental laboratory procedures, such as fractional distillation, liquid chromatography, organic synthesis reactions, among others. • Providing technical support to R&D chemists from research groups within the School of Science.

•Quality control testing of raw materials, finished products and trial samples: -Epoxy resins and epoxy curing agents, finished epoxy adhesives -Polychloroprene rubbers (DuPont Neoprene) -Polyurethane foams and sealants, Silicone sealants

Research and development internship, working in: • Development and optimization of the group transfer polymerization (GTP) technique for the synthesis of block copolymers of different nature.
