Als Doktorandin an der Aalborg University Business School arbeitete ich im Bereich Innovationsmanagement und untersuchte die Rolle von Geschäftsökosystemen und lokaler Facilitatoren für die Entwicklung nachhaltiger Geschäftsmodelle.

Dank eines Stipendiums arbeite ich im Rahmen meiner Promotion eng mit dem Aalborger Hafen, "Port of Aalborg", und dessen F&E Abteilung zusammen. Das Projekt GRØN (Grüne Ressourcen-Ökosysteme Nordjütland), mit dem der Hafen die Kooperation von kleinen und mittelständischen Firmen in der Region fördern will, ist meine Fallstudie. Hier unterstütze ich die Entwicklung nachhaltiger Ressourcenaustäusche zwischen diesen KMUs mit den passenden Werkzeugen, Matchmaking Workshops und relevanten Forschungsergebnissen.

Within the project ‘Sustainable Synergies’ I supported the facilitation and development of new green business models for companies in Aalborg East, through investigating opportunities for making better use of the area's resources. This included research into the formation of industrial symbioses and the higher energy and resource efficiency and thus competitive advantages associated with the concept.

As part of my master’s thesis, I undertook an analysis of the current industrial symbiosis in Aalborg, Denmark. The project was targeted at uncovering the symbiosis and making sense of the ecosystemic drivers, facilitators, and barriers that influence its development. As part of the EU-supported project 'Miljø++' it provided the baseline for implementing additional company collaborations and developing green business models in the area.

A very formative period of my career was my time at Metabolic, a consulting firm with the mission to transition the world to a sustainable state. I could gain valuable experience with tools such as stakeholder, EIA, MFA, systems thinking and LCA. Moreover, I received insights into important topics such as carbon capture and utilization, circular construction, and a sustainable agriculture and food system.

This study program interconnects a variety of disciplines from the branch of environmental sciences and develops a future-orientated perspective on the field of sustainable development. As businesses have a great environmental responsibility, I was focusing on corporate sustainability management.

This degree offered me a modern perspective on business economics while emphasizing the role of knowledge and innovation as the most valuable resources. It focused on sustainable strategies for innovation, business development, and global positioning.

My semester abroad in Shanghai offered me further profound academical training, including the areas of International Marketing, Macroeconomics, Logistics and Supply Chain Management as well as various courses regarding Chinese language and business culture.

My bachelor's degree provided me with in-depth knowledge in business administration covering Production & Cost Theory, Marketing, Controlling, Investment, Financing, Quant. Methods & Law - with a strong international focus. Specialized in Tourism I could also gain insight into branch-related issues.
